Abstract
Oral manifestation in an increasing number of palliative care patients are often neglected. Dental practitioners are not usually part of the team involved in palliative care. Oral care is often inadequately delivered to palliative care patients, while can affect the quality of life both physically and emotionally. Mouth care should be part of daily routine care for all patients. Every patient with a terminal illness should be assessed for mouth problems regularly. In my presentation, I will explain the impact of oral care in palliative medicine and how to diagnose and manage mouth problems.
Biography
Mohammed AlQarni has completed his residency in pediatric dentistry. He is working in a tertiary hospital where many patients with terminal illnesses are being treated. He is the head of maxillofacial & dental laboratory department. He has many publications that have been cited 43 times. He has been serving as a reviewer for several reputed journals.
